Just a quick note to apprise you of upcoming opportunities and events!
CEA CONFERENCE is in the OC this year -- right in our backyard and coming up fast -- at the Hilton Anaheim, October 13 & 14. Be sure to mark your calendar, as you won't want to miss out on the great variety of educational sessions (and CEU's for you PD holders). Registration will be opening soon - watch for CEA's email blasts on that topic.
OCEA is pleased to offer SCHOLARSHIPS to the Conference, and YOU could be one of the recipients! Attached is a flyer and our super-simple application. In order to win, you must be a member of OCEA in good standing and must attend our September 20 virtual meeting, when the winners will be drawn. Application deadline is 5PM on September 11 - get yours in today!
Speaking of our OCEA SEPTEMBER GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING, we have a great program lined up for you! Attorney Ben Griffin will be speaking and taking questions on the topic of ISSUES WITH ENTITIES -- what happens when things go awry. Such as... Corporation documents missing? Trustees deceased and no one can find the Trust Agreement? LLC Managing Member deceased and there's no one else who can sign? What to do? (What can or can't be done?) Every escrow practitioner needs this information, right? We know you don't want to suffer FOMO, so mark your calendar now for September 20 at 5PM and plan to join us virtually. And bring your questions for Ben! (CEU credits available for PD holders!)
ONE MORE THING! ONE MORE THING! Opportunity knocks again!
OCEA will be conducting its elections in September, and there's a position open for...YOU. Our Board of Directors is and has long been a welcoming place for escrow peeps who have an interest in serving. Whatever your area of interest, "we have a committee for that!" The time commitments are really not that heavy, I promise, and our "BOD" meetings are held virtually, so you could live or work anywhere and still participate!
We need you and your fresh ideas to keep OCEA moving into the future. Won't you please consider completing and returning the attached Willingness to Serve Form? One-year and three-year terms are open. Application deadline is September 11.
That's it for now!
We hope you're enjoying your summer, which is actually nearly over! Whoosh! Time flies, doesn't it? (If you've already finished your Christmas shopping, I don't want to hear about it! LOL!)
Wishing you well,
Debi Peters, CEO, CSEO
